FAQs - Entering the Club

Anyone living in Broken Hill will need to join the club or have a member sign them in even if it's only to have a meal in the bistro. This is a law under the NSW Club Act.
Visitors to Broken Hill (with photo ID with an address outside of Broken Hill, are welcome to enjoy the club but must sign in at reception before entering any other area of the club.

Yes. Even if you are a current member you must have an approved photo ID on you to enter the club.
Visitors and guests will require an approved photo ID to sign in otherwise we must refuse entry and we prefer not to do this.
Anyone looking to join the club will have to have an approved photo ID when completing their Membership application at reception.

We only accept photo ID set out but service NSW as approved photo ID. This includes Australian State Drivers Licence, Australian or International Passports, or a state issued proof of age card. Each of these ID’s must not be expired and must have a clear photo of the owner.
We do not accept centrelink cards, medicare cards or boat licenses as ID.
Current Members with a current membership card are encouraged to have one of these approved photo ID’s on their person as there are circumstances where we may require this ID (ie. when paying out wins over a certain amount).

Yes. The Broken Hill Musicians Club has a proud history of being a venue that maintains some simple standards. No hats of any kind are to be worn inside the club. If you have a medical reason for needing to wear a hat in the club we can make an exception if we receive written advice from your Dr.
Gentlemen are asked to ensure their shirts have sleeves, no singlets or muscle shirts.
We ask that anyone planning to be at the club after 8pm please do not wear thongs (on your feet).
Please ensure your clothing is clean and tidy and that you have paid attention to your personal hygiene. It’s a very awkward conversion to have with members but please be assured we will have it, for the comfort and safety of all other members.

Yes. We welcome all of our members and their families. Our licensed areas are of course off limits to anyone under 18 years old, this includes our main bar and gaming lounge. However children are welcome in the bistro or private functions as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times.
We have just added a brand new kids play room off of the bistro for all kids to enjoy before or after their meals.

Yes. Our award winning bistro is open 7 days a week for Lunch and Dinner. We offer a variety of meal options catering for several dietary requirements. If unsure about any of our meals please speak with our bistro staff or chef.
Whilst bookings are not required we get extremely busy several nights a week so it can be wise to give us a quick call to book your table.

We offer a number of meal options that are vegetarian and options that are gluten free. Our gluten free meals are prepared and cooked using industry leading food safety practices including separate fryers for gluten free foods.
We do not specifically cater for vegan diets.
We understand that there are many customers that have unique dietary requirements and we take our customers' health and safety very seriously.
Having said that, it is our customers responsibility to make enquiries if you are unsure if a dish may contain an allergen that could affect you.
Where a meal contains well known and understood allergens we will note this on our menu. However our chefs and bistro staff will always make further enquiries if asked by our customers.

Yes. We have a good selection of meals catered to children at family friendly pricing. Children under 14 years old are offered a complimentary middy of soft drink and an ice-cream for dessert with each kids meal purchased.
Please discuss with us any food allergies your child has if you are unsure if our meals are allergen free for your child.
