The Silver City Cinema is an Icon of Broken Hill and Far West NSW. Boasting the largest silver screen in Australia and a theatre that seats over 380 people, the Silver City Cinema is truly one of a kind.
In 2022, the previous owners, a family with strong community connections and over 40 years of bringing Hollywood to the outback, made the decision to sell the cinema. With the likely hood that if a buyer could not be found, the cinema would close, the Broken Hill Musicians Club made the decision to step in and purchase the grand old theatre to continue to run it for the community of Broken Hill.
Now operated under the clubs not-for-profit model, the Musicians Club has secured the opportunity for members and locals to see Hollywood’s latest and greatest films long into the future.
